Buche Coco

The Buche Coco Mix was created in 1958 in Niel.

Grandfather Frans Nauwelaerts developed the recipe together with his good friend and pharmacist Jef Wege from Terhagen.

The cheap raw materials at the time ensured that this product could position itself among the pralines and with which the product was also accessible to the general public.

The Buche Coco owes its name to the tree trunk-like shape or the previously known product Bûche de Noël.

The product became very well known in the provinces of Antwerp and Limburg in the following years.

In the 1960s, the Buche Coco got its national fame through the recording and distribution of the super wholesaler of the time.
