The Buche Coco bars with a vanilla flavor originated in Niel in the early 1950s.
Frans Nauwelaerts is the driving force behind the Buche Coco, it is the mid-50s that
he developed the recipe for the colored Buche Coco together with his good friend and pharmacist Jef Wege from Terhagen.
The Buche Coco owes its name to the tree trunk-like shape or the previously known product Bûche de Noël.
